getting over a virus of some sort.i feel much better but still have a wheeze type issue when i exhale hard. cannot get whatever it is unstuck. ideas?

Mucous plug: you probably have some built up mucous in your lungs.  Use some OTC Mucinex (guaifenesin) 1200 mg bid as well as increase your water intake to thin the mucous.  It should resolve soon  always take deep breaths to help open up the lung area during the day   If fever or increased wheezing see PCP

: Depends on how you are feeling and what Dr hears when they listen and what X-ray looks like. Rely on your Drs advice.

Not normal: Wheezing is the sound made when air flow is forced through narrowed airways.  Wheezing is a common symptom of asthma (small airways in the lungs). Wheezing can also come from narrowing with turbulent air flow through any other part of the airway.  It is best to have wheezing evaluated even if it is mild.

Airway obstruction: Wheezing is the musical sound created when air is rushing through a narrowed airway.  When wheezing occurs on expiration, this is a very common symptom of asthma or copd.  This may be accompanied by cough, shortness of breath or chest tightness if it is asthma. Less common causes of wheezing that are serious are heart failure, foreign body or tumors in the airway.

Yes and no: It is typical that wheezes are heard only with exhalation.  It is not normal to wheeze.

Yes: Wheezing is not normal, but wheezing is by definition a noise made on exhaling only. It is caused by turbulence of airflow coming back out of narrow bronchial tubes.

If you have: Asthma you might wheeze as you exhale. It is like a spasm of your breathing tree in your lungs, the airways .as they spasm they closed own and the space for the air to exit narrows and you hear the noise as the wheeze . If you take medicine to relax the spasm in the airway the space opens and the wheeze and noise goes away

Yes: A forced expiratory wheeze can be totally normal. If you start developing wheezes at other times, contact your doctor. Hope this helps!

Get an inhaler: It sounds like you are having bronchospasm from being exposed to animal dander.  An inhaler taken prior to work should be able to stop the wheezing.  Your physician can easily prescribe this for you.

every time my pro air hfa inhaler gets weaker , i get a little wheeze that you can only hear when i'm in a quiet room(end of exhale).why ?

Return inhaler: Pro air hfa should deliver the same quality and quantity of albuterol with each actuaction until the counter reads zero. If you believe the inhaler is defective, return it to the pharmacy for a replacement.  If you find that you are having symptoms that are not controlled, check with your doctor.
