Lotsa Options: Yeah, chloroseptic is OK. Tastes kinds weird and doesn't last all that long. Also avoid potential irritants like salt, citrus, hot peppers, and the like. And try cold, like frozen yogurt or ice cream/ice milk/ice chips and soft foods, nothing with sharp edges (like Cap'n Crunch or sea urchins). If it starts feeling like you're swallowing razor blades, and you spike a fever go see a doctor

Drink cold fluid : You have a sore throat.  Try drinking cold fluid to help ease pain.  Not alcohol.  If you have strep throat it can be tested easily and treated with antibiotics.  If it is from post nasal drip that can be treated as well.  You can gargle with salt water or mouthwash and that helps.  Try a cepacol losange.  It numbs the area.

Sore throat: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.
