i am scheduled for colonoscopy in two days.  i just ate what i thought was seasoning but it turned out to be parsley and lemon peel.  do i cancel appt?

Should be ok: You will still get the prep before the procedure to clean you up. Those are contraindicated with a regular stool test, although not the newer ones.  Don''t worry. Good luck.

Yes: Most paints are not lead based these days, however, if you live in an older house the old paint chips may still be. To be safe, she should have lead levels checked.

See a doctor!: You will need an antibiotic as all open sores are susceptible to infection. In particular, an open sore on any part of your oropharynx (incl. lips). Plus, you should invest in some lip balm or discuss your chapped lips with a Dermatologist. Do NOT peel your skin! This leads to an infection, which is what you probably have. See a doctor!

i suddenly felt some dryness and little bumps on my lips. its now some kind of allergy on my lips. ate mango from peel; used a newish lip balm. what?

Contact allergy: This may well be from an allergic reaction to the mango but the new lip balm may also be a cause.  If you have had problem with poison oak/poison ivy in the past, you are more likely to get a delayed allergic reaction (24-72 hrs after exposure) to mango.  Obviously the best treatment is avoidance.

what is the best way to completely whiten my teeth and fix them that is not too expensive? i for years ate lemons and lots of hot spicy foods and my teeth are now stained yellow and are brittle with mini cracks in them.  also my inner mouth is peeling all

I : I think this might be a better question for a dentist and probably will require an oral examination.  There are a few conditions such as lichen planus that can affect the oral mucosa and cause white patches.  Also, are you a smoker? This certainly would put you at risk for oral cancer (such as squamous cell carcinoma).  Read more about lichen planus at the link below.

Chemical peels: Among the more serious and undesirable chemical peel side effects are changes in shin color. It is possible, although rare when you're treated by a qualified physician, to develop hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation after a chemical peel. Hyperpigmentation is increased color of the skin.

Nothing bad: You are facilitating the natural shedding of your dead epidermis. Don't get to aggressive or you can accidentally take off the regenerating new skin cells.  It's best to just moisturize and let the dead skin flake off with gentle rubbing if you can't ignore it for a day or so.

Sounds normal: Skin when separated from the underlying cells often appears whitish clear.  This also happens when skin is soaked in water for a long period of time.

Great Idea: Sunburn is response of the tissues to injury from solar radiation. It is inflammation which means increase blood flow to the area to promote healing. Do not use ice as this injures already injured skin. Cool water soaks can help as can taking anti-inflammation medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen). Avoid further damage like scratching as this causes scarring . Good skin cream applied daily/gently helps.
