Marijuana: Smoking anything, including cannibus, is a mistake. Despite claims of cannibus advocates, use of the drug seriously impairs lung function, increases secretions, and impairs lung immune function. Users have a higher rate of work absence than smokers. Remember, a single drug can be evaluated. But cannibus is a slew of 400 compounds, and what is in 'your' cannibus is impossible to determine.

??: Don't quite get the connection. However, any "smoking" can affect your asthma. It is not just tobacco that can bring on an attack. I would of course tell you to stay away from the "weed".

: Inhaled marijuana MAY cause bronchial irritation and trigger an asthmatic attack. If it hasn’t thus far, it hasn’t and therefore is less likely to do so in the future.

Harmful: Asthma is a condition of excessive reactions by the airways to irritants or other triggers. Smoking, whatever the product, introduces a variety of irritants into the lung. Some folks may be able to get by with the exposures without bad effects but most will aggravate their asthma & make it harder to control. Same goes for working around dust without a mask, paint fumes, etc.

Not really: It mimics post-nasal drips far more although it may also cause a dry cough.  However there is no wheezing or sob usually associated with asthma.

Uncontrolled?: If you are not feeling well and not sleeping well from your asthma, it will affect your quality of life and it may make you tired. You really need to get it under control, talk to your doctor about your symptoms.

Something else: I had already mentioned vocal cord dysfunction from LPR as a potential cause. But you need to rule out other factors too and getting a lung function test would be the least you can do.

Chest trauma.: Were you assessed at the time?  Worst case scenario would be a broken rib.  A chest contusion wouldn't last this long, and the trauma shouldn't set off your asthma.  At this point, I'd seek a chest X-Ray with a rib series at least.  And a lung exam, of course.  Rib fractures may not hurt that much after a few days, so it may be there to affect your breathing but may not hurt too much.
