Maybe: Depends on what the best potential vision is and if it's worth laser surgery correction (i.e. Benefit over risk).  Sometimes amblyopia can occur if one eye was always weak, and it'll stay that way since it was a developmental problem (no way to correct that currently).

Not yet age stabilit: Myopia and astigmatism can be corrected with laser.  Minimum approved age is 18. (Are you 16 or 22?)  In addition to your prescription testing for stability, other very important tests and a dilated exam will be done by your ophthalmologist to see if you are a candidate then. There are other treatments that can correct your vision as well if your are not a good laser candidate.

Laser eye surgery: Laser eye surgery can correct most amounts of myopia and astigmatism as long as you are otherwise a good laser candidate.  Both lasik and prk can treat these refractive errors and are equally effective long term.

is 75 too old for glaucoma medication to be effective? my father was just diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma. if he has laser surgery to correct the problem, will he be at risk of developing the condition again in the future?

Open-angle : Open-angle glaucoma is a chronic condition for which there is no known cure.  The goal of treatment in most cases is to reduce the eye's intraocular or internal pressure.  There are many treatment options including laser and/ or eye drop use, which are usually very effective in controlling glaucoma.  In some cases, the pressure can be lowered with a laser procedure (selective laser trabeculoplasty or slt), which may need to be performed 1-3 times every 5-7 years and alone can be effective or may require additional eye drop use.  Slt laser in recent studies has not been shown to less effective with advancing age.  The proper treatment for your father, whether slt, another laser procedure, or eye drop use, depends based on your father's case specifics.  Discuss all options and the goals of treatment with your father's ophthalmologist.  Good luck.

i had melonoma surgery on my leg with18 stitches two weeks ago. it looks very bumpy now and raised. should i have laser surgery to correct bumpiness and how soon after surgery? doctor said it might take one year to heal?

Wait: Scars usually shrink with time. It would be prudent to follow your doctor's advice and wait for a year.  Note that additional interference with the scar may make it worse.

Double?: It is important to figure out what double really means.... Two of each item out of one eye? Both eyes? Blurred? Ghosting? Out of focus?  Need a good refraction, corneal topography and macular oct to confirm normal structures.  Many time surface irregularities (abmd) can be a source!

Not with nystagmus: Laser can correct astigmatism but with nystagmus the eye may move and create problems with the cornea. Stay away from Lasek and other laser procedures.

Yes: However it depends on whether the astigmatism is caused by a misshaped cornea, or is coming from the lens inside the eye.
