Sugar: It is sugar and an addiction. Milk is very highly saturated with lactose....The same thing as sugar. It is a lot of calories. This is most likely a sugar addiction.

Kids can lose the gut enzyme needed to digest the milk sugar after diarrhea or naturally & end up with gassy loose stools. The transient form resolves over time.

If a baby is breathing in while the fluid is trying to go down, some can sneak passed the epiglottis and be inhaled into the lung. Luckily this rarely happens.

No worries...: We all get cravings once in a while - this is entirely normal.  Usually the cravings center around a tasty food (never seems to happen with broccoli)  having a craving for milk doesn't mean that you're deficient in calcium or some other important vitamin. The basics: Infants that age can swallow air &amp; create a stomach full that triggers spit up.They can also have difficulty keeping the feed down since the stomach entrance is a fold in a tube rather than a valve. Re-flux or backwash is possible in any infant &amp; tends to amplify as they get older, peaking at 6-10 weeks in some. Overfeeding a "barracuda" feeder is also a possibility.
