No: Cetaphil and aveeno are not recommended to use as a lube with a condom.  Both may breakdown latex condoms.  Instead use water based products such as KY jelly or Astroglide.

Lots of options: Anything that does not cause skin irritation is just fine. Certain oils can dissolve latex condoms. Avoid the lubricants that have scents added or things to make the skin feel hot. Astroglide and pjur are safe and effective.

Never good=?: How is sex never good for her? Does she have pain? Does she not lubricate? Does she not orgasm? Has she been able to have satisfying sex with previous partners? Answers to these  questions will help narrow down the problem.  Please visit her gyn with her for a consultation.  If she's physically healthy, then a consultation with a sex counselor would be a good idea.

a water based : Lubricant is usually fine. A petroleum based lubricant should be avoided.

Not a good idea: Water soluble lubricant like surglube, lubafax, aqualube etc are ideal. Maple syrup is very sticky, could lead to infection because germs love sugar. Advice is don't use maple syrup for this purpose.

As long : as it wasn't broken you should be ok.   Just take time to put on correctly for maximum protection

Possible allergy: Itching and burning after use of latex condoms could indicate and allergy to the condom.  It would be a good idea to take a warm bath daily, avoid any perfumed soaps or detergents, wear cotton underwear and avoid sex.  If not improved in a few days, see a doctor

Change brand: I suggest you change brand  (or flavor) . The mint / burning part is supposed to enhance his experience not yours.

Yes: You can though it may  or may not irritate your vagina. Their are multiple brands. They are not prescription hence hard to recommend any particular type

Possible: Any time you have sex, there is a possibility of pregnancy. If you use condoms and an effective birth control (such as the pill), you will decrease the risk, but it is never 0% chance (unless you don't have sex at all!) . It sounds like you are taking reasonable precautions, but you should try to take your pill on a regular schedule.
