Trigeminal : Trigeminal neuralgia is usually evaluated and diagnoses by neurologists or primary care doctors. There is medication available for the pain and also radiofrequency surgery. The main thing is do rule out other causes of pain that may resemble trigeminal neuralgia. A root canal infection or the warning pain of the shingles can simulate trigeminal neuralgia. Dental conditions or TMJ must be ruled out. Call your primary care doctor first and then get a referral if neccesary.

You should also check with your physician to see if there are any underlying medical causes such as allergies, acid reflux, nutritional deficiencies, endocrine disorders.
This is often very difficult to find cause and treat.
