Intertrigo: This may be a rash from heat and friction which is somewhat common in the armpit area. However,yeast infections are also often seen there as well. If an antiyeast cream such as lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone) doesn't clear up the rash and stop the itch, see your physician.

Is it infected?: Without physically examining your insect bite, there is only a medical guess as to what is triggering the weeping. Is it infected? This would be the 1st concern--addressing the infection is the only solution here. If the weeping is watery clear, then perhaps this is more of an allergic-type reaction that might respond to oral antihistamines such as allegra (fexofenadine). Call md if infected or not better soon.

As it heals, drainage decreases.  Keep it covered and changed 2-3 x/ week.

Nope: Generally when a wound has a discharge, this suggests a proteinaceous or purulent fluid is being released like pus. While a "weeping" wound typically suggests that there is non infected serosanguinous fluid, meaning not infected fluid being released.

Depends on the cause: If the wound is bleeding, you put pressure on it until it stops.  If it is leaking pus, squeeze as much pus out as possible and clean it thoroughly and see a physician for possible need of antibiotics.  If it is just weeping clear liquid, put a clean dressing on it with a little pressure and keep that part of the body slightly elevated to decrease the pressure to that region.
