Other factors including dehydration, crystals in urine, dissolved "salts" (eg, sodium) may affect the density of urine.  Urine is darker if you're dehydrated or have jaundice or blood in the urine. Nothing vs. somethin: It may not mean anything wrong. Certain foods can produce odor in the urine such as asparagus. On the other hand, you may have infection in your urine especially if combined with symptoms of urinary urgency, burning, frequency, pain in the abdomen or lower back, blood present in the urine. In that case, you will need to have it checked by doc.

You may be low: Dark urine is often the sign of dehydration or even blood in the urine.  You should go see your friendly doctor for a simple urinalysis to better ascertain the problem.
