Usually blood vessel: There can be a nerve component such as trigeminal nueralgia but if both sides of the head is usually a change in superficial blood vessels or dry skin.  Look for scaling to see if it is a skin disorder.

: My impression is that you have an irritable superficial scalp nerve &amp; that the symptom is not emanating from advice. the skull. These irritable nerves are more of a nuisance &amp;  tend to quiet down on their on after a short period. If the  symptom  see your MD or a neurologist for evaluation &amp; advice.

See dermatologist: There are several possible reasons for this.  This could be due to skin causes such as dry skin, an infection of the scalp, vitamin b deficiency especially b12, or abnormal thyroid function . Occasionally, scalp tenderness and tingling are seen in patients who have chronic headaches such as migraine. The treatment is different for each cause. Check with your gp or dermatologist first.

Multiple reasons: You might have a small pimple forming that is causing that sensation.   Make sure you are not plucking any nose hair.    This can lead to infection of the nasal cavity.  Always trim.    If your nose stars to swell and turn red, see you primary care provider

Shingles?: If this is located on one side of your scalp and you have had chicken pox then it could be that you are getting shingles. This condition will worsen and become more painful if it is. You may want to see a doctor or dermatologist to rule that out. Good luck.
