Sometimes they are squeezed and a bad smelling cheesy like material comes out.  Some people have more than one, and they can be found anywhere on the body. They can be removed by a dermatologist.

Have it looked at: The most common thing it could be is a pilar cyst, a benign growth that can be removed if you wanted but is not harmful. However without seeing it, i could not say for sure. Have it looked at by a dermatologist. Piece of mind goes a long way. Good luck!

Scalp lump: Most skin conditions like this should be evaluated by a physician. In sun exposed areas, tissue damage results in changes in the nature and texture of the skin, including benign things like seborrheic keratosis, but also skin cancers like basal and squamous cell tumors. A biopsy always takes guesswork out of the equation.

Some ideas: This may be an osteoma, a little hematoma / bruise bump that healed with a lot of calcification, or something else. If it's not growing, not painful, and not ulcerating, leave it alone; show your physician next visit.

Dermatology consult: This can represent several things most benign. It is always best to have a professional look at the lesion. It most likely is a simple sebaceous cyst even an eczematous lesion but never the less have it looked at.
