Calm yourself.: Many people get no side effects. Loose stools can occur - i haven't heard about constipation as a side effect. Try not to focus on your fears or they will grow.

Normal: I typically tell patients that they might bleed post partum for up to 6 weeks.  Sometimes the bleeding stops and then it starts up again, crazy, huh? It's normal to have bright red blood, medium red, dark red and clots.  Rather than plan b, how about a regular birth control for you now since you have such a young baby?  You're past the 4 week mark so can get an estrogen/progesterone pill.

Hormones: Plan b contains female hormone. Your hormone levels fluctuate throughout your cycle. When you take plan b, your normal cycles can be thrown off. Some women may just spot after, some may start their menses early, or some may skip it altogether. Your clear discharge is likely a result of the increase in hormone levels. Your menses will likely come. If not, consider seeing your obgyn or primary doctor.

Maybe Plan B side: effect.  Brown material is likely old blood. Emergency contraception symptoms can include spotting or bleeding, changes in menstrual flow or your period may be late or early.  Take a home pregnancy test &amp; notify your GYN if your period is 7 or &gt; days late.

Taken regularly, that is all you need to prevent pregnancy. Plan B has high levels of hormones which, taken after unprotected sex, prevents fertilized embryo's from implanting in your uterus. The high hormone levels disrupt your menstrual cycle and can cause bleeding.

Potential side effects w emergency contraception include: menstrual flow changes (spotting, bleeding, early or late period), nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headache, breast tenderness &amp; abdominal pain or cramps. Take pregnancy test &amp; notify dr if your period is 7 or &gt; days late.
