Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and Nuvigil: Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is a stimulant. It is used for adhd and can also be used to augment antidepressant treatment. While Nuvigil can stimulate, it is not a stimulant per se. Additionally, Nuvigil is approved for shift-work and other circadian-rhythym disturbance-related reasons for daytime fatigue and poor focus. That being said, Nuvigil has also been used (although off-label) for adhd.

3mths cpap, 250 mg nuvigil ,sleep 10 hrs a night and still sleepy during the day--why is this happening? adderall/concerta dont work either.

Hard to say: It depends on what other meds you are taking.  If you are overweight, lose weight, which helps everything.  Otherwise we don't know enough about your history to advise you sensibly or appropriately.  Talk to your doc and consider a second opinion if you want further reassurance by someone who has your complete medical records and can examine you in person.

i have narcolepsy w/o cataplexy but my doc and i cant find medicine to help me. ive tried adderall, ritalin, nuvigil and provigil but nothing helps.

Please repost: Your post leaves out many important details: 1) Where, how &amp; by whom was your narcolepsy diagnosed? Is it a firm diagnosis? 2) Is your “doc” a neurologist? Is he/she a specialist in sleep disorders? Based at an academic medical center? 3) Have any nonpharmacological measures been tried? 4) When nothing works, you need to be sure the diagnosis is correct. Have you sought a 2nd opinion?

Many answers: 1.  No one knows why adderal works better than Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) for some patients.
2. Yes, propanol is appropriate for stage fright or performance anxiety, test anxiety etc. Any anxiety that is caused by a panic response.  
3. The mechanism of action of Nuvigil is not known, it promotes wakefulness.
4. Yes, trazodone can be used for sleep in specific circumstances and after consultation with a physician.

Great question!: You may consider using vitamin B12, sublingually (under the tongue) Nuvigil is a stinulant used for excessive sleepiness. What is the cause of your sleepiness? Adressing the underlying problem is usually the best option.

Both stimulants: Adderall is a combination of amphetamine salts. Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) is a refined version of methylphenidate, the Brand name of which is the well-known name Ritalin. Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) XR is an extended-release form of Focalin (dexmethylphenidate).  Methylphenidate and amphetamine are both stimulants and are very similar in their effects and possible side-effects, but different enough that some people do better with one than another.

Unclear question: Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is a mix of two salts of amphetamine (amp) with half being d-amp and the other half being d/l-amp.  Only d-
amp is active for adhd sx.  I suspect the latter you mentioned is immediate release, as opposed to extended release (xr).  The medication is the same, but the former lasts about half as long as the latter.  So, 20 mg XR is like taking 10 mg in the morning and another 10 mg at noon.

Delivery form: Both a amphetamine (amp).  Adderall is a blend of d-amp (50%) and d, l-amp (50%).  Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is called a prodrug:  it is d-amp linked to an amino acid.  It is inactive till it gets in the body, where an enzyme cleaves the molecule, releasing d-amp.  That means a very different release pattern, and it is the longest acting oral stimulant.  Some like one, others the other.  Both can be effective.
