Cause=No: If you are constipated, the colon is loaded with stool, but due to its elastic nature, it has accommodated to the stretching of it already. Increasing abdominal pressure with constricting pants pushes its elasticity over the edge and now it will cause pain from the increased stretch on the wall of the colon-hopefully prompting you to take measures to evacuate it!

No, not likely: The small bowel would not be a source of constipation. Also a colonoscopy does not indicate colon physiology, it only evaluates for visual abnormality of the colon mucosal lining. Colon physiology is studied by anal muscle manometry and x-ray study of colon motility with swallowed colon markers (as an example of some tests).

The first thing you should do is evaluate how much water you are taking in a day (>8 cups/day) and how much fiber you are eating (25 to 35 g/day). If that doesn't work, look to see if you are taking too many constipating foods like dairy or pasta.

Being very physically active tends to dramatically ↓↓ constipation.

Constipation: Can occur due to low fiber&water content in the diet. These help the intestines move bulk along and keep the stool soft. Also, ppl who hold their bm until they are in the comfort of their own home are at risk of hard stools. "holding it" desensitizes the nerves of the rectum to the stretch which normally signals the time for a bm. As the stool sits in the rectum, it becomes dehydrated and hard.
