i had an episode of syncope while driving. am i more likely to suffer this again having already had an episode of it?

Accepted Answer

It depends: The answer to this  depends on the reason for the syncope, and whether it's been addressed & treated or not.  Syncope can come from many sources -- drug effects, blood pressure problems, blood sugar problems, heart rhythm disturbances, etc.  You really need to work with your own doctor about this -- could be fatal for you, your passengers, and other drivers if you don't.

after several months of testing not receiving answers from doctors why ive had syncope episodes other than all tests normal. what should i do?

See below: If your doctors who examined you, carried out the tests and had access to your health history were not helpful, it is unreasonable to expect one of us to provide an answer based on your brief statement. All I can suggest is stay hydrated so that syncope are not due to low blood volume.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

why did i have a near-syncope episode after giving blood?

Be careful: It is common to feel somewhat light headed after donating blood. Everyone reacts differently, but by donating you are briefly compromising your own circulatory effectiveness for a short period of time.  It rebounds very quickly.

"strange sxs": Can you elaborate on the new symptoms? 
Was the cause of the syncope established? Are you diabetc? Have you ever had a heart attack? Have you had further spells in which you feel faint? There are many other questions but no space here for them.

Yes: Congestive heart failure can absolutely result in syncopal episodes.  Patients should be evaluated by their cardiologists to assess cardiac function, as well as potentially neurologists for these events.

Conceivable: if injuries led to vertebral artery impingement.  Get a tilt table test and a neurology evaluation

Start slowly: 55 years is not too old for vigorous exercise, however, given your history, start with low intensity exercise like walking and gradually increase the duration and intensity, as tolerated.

Cannot diagnose: Without more information, a past medical history and full exam and possibly labs it would be foolish to begin to construct a differential diagnosis.  He needs to be seen and fully evaluated. Good luck.

First?: Any trouble like this with the first pregnancy?  First event?  Reason for prednisone and oxycodone (both of which could be related to this event)?
