Should be OK: But sometimes taking antibiotics on an empty stomach produces more GI side-effects than when taken with food.  Will  affect absorption negatively with food, but generally not significantly.  If you can tolerate it without food that is a better decision.

Cefixime: Is effective against the typhoid bacillus.  At least most strains are sensitive.

Single dose: Cefixime (Suprax) is no longer recommended as routine gonorrhea treatment; a shot of ceftriaxone is the drug of choice. However, cefixime still is usually effective. The recommended dose is 400 mg single dose, i.e. take all at once. It always must be combined with a second antibiotic, usually azithromycin single dose or doxycycline for 7 days. Check with the doc or clinic treating you.

This requires: careful management. It most cases, a positive test 3 months after treatment represents a new infection rather than a treatment failure.  It is unfortunate that you only took 1/2 of the recommended azithromycin (Zithromax) dose. NOW, you need to be recultured and wait for drug susceptibility testing to make sure you are treated with the appropriate antibiotics. Work carefully with your doctor.

Go to ID doctor: Persistent infection after treatment may be due to reinfection  or resistance/treatment failure. Make sure parter(s) are treated. If the cultures for gonococcus are positive, isolates should be submitted for resistance testing. Advise IM ceftriaxone plus high dose oral Azithromycin. Gemifloxacin or IM gentamicin if resistance to cephalosporins is suspected. Retest 14 days after retreatment.

Not the treatment: Back when we treated gonorrhea with oral drugs, we used a single dose. But now there's too much drug resistance, so the recommended treatment is a single shot of ceftriaxone, 250 mg

in 4 months 7yrs old girl had 2 painful hematourias, cured with cefixime. no labs before the hematourias. after first time, urinoanalisis was clean, after second, lab with erytrocites. now 3 weeks after second hematouria she has pain? why?

: Urinary Tract Infections in infants require a thorough workup by an in person physician. Imaging may reveal structural abnormalities in the urinary tract/kidneys/ureters or there may be secondary causes such as improper wiping after BM's. Follow up with your prescribing Dr for next steps.
