Light sensitivity : Light sensitivity can be caused by many things. Fair skin color,light colored iris &amp; decreased retinal pigment, can all cause light sensitivity. Typically, this is present throughout life. If the symptoms are new ,it could represent early cataract formation. I suggest evaluation with an ophthalmologist.

Yes, often: Blue eyed people often have less pigment in the retina in the back of the eye.  They are often more sensitive to light than people with darker eyes. Fun fact: blue eyes also dilate more quickly after dilating drops in the ophthalmologists office.

Sensitivity: Many people have unique sensitivities to various things, like touch, sound, odors, etc plus those you have mentioned.  It can be an aspect of your temperament that you've had for a lifetime (and can help a homeopath find a medicine that will help you).  It may also be related to conditions developed in your lifetime -- i've known patients who experience increased sensitivities after brain surgery.

Jet lag brain edema: Sleep deprivation prevents the brain from cleaning out toxic waste products. Mild brain edema may occur. 
The eyes may become photosensitive to a mild degree.
Short naps may help but a full night's sleep is in order.
Pycnogenol or ginko biloba may help relieve the symptoms of jet lag. N-Acetyl Cysteine may also relieve stress on the brain. Follow the directions on the bottles.

Tears: Many reasons but the most benign is surface drying which distorts the immage and increases glare sensitivity.
