For instance, fearing fire in a fireplace is one thing, and could possibly indicate an anxiety disorder.  But feeling afraid when the fire escapes the fireplace and burns down your house, is normal!  is the fear crippling, preventing you from activities you want to do?  If so, see a therapist for help.

Psychotropic medications are sometimes indicated as well.

Don't really know: The actual cause of adhd is really unknown. Spect scans have been able to show abnormalities in the frontal lobe of those with adhd, but this doesn't explain cause. It is believed to be a chemical, rather than purely a behavioral disorder. Theories on cause are endless from diet, genetics, vitamin deficiency, toxin exposure, fetus development, etc.
