Observe: As i mentioned you should see a thyroidologist to determine if the nodule appears benign. If so perhaps a repeat ultrasound as well as thyroid blood tests to determine why the gland is enlarged.

No : 3 mm is very small. Even if you have more it would not change anything. The only thing you need is to have another ultrasound in the future (1yr) and see if anything changes.

Depends : It all depends on the size and if it is new. There is a need to do needle aspiration if not sure

Depends...: Depends upon the size and other factors. In general, it is better to be safe and proceed with the biopsy plus appropriate blood tests. Discuss w/your doctor and see an endocrinologist if appropriate or want a second opinion.

You need a: Biopsy of the largest nodule, and maybe also the smaller ones depending upon the ultrasound findings. Check w/your doctor.

Suspicious: Your nodule is significant in size. I would recommend you to get a biopsy done to the nodule to rule out cancer.

Needs FNA: Most nodules of the thyroid are benign.  However, fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy of a nodule is indicated in your age group for nodules over 1 cm in size.  Having increased vascularity raises the index of suspicion slightly.  You should have thyroid function (free T4, TSH) checked prior to biopsy.

Can't say for sure.: Most of the time, such findings will not be cancer. The only way to be more confident is to do a needle biopsy.

No.: Most thyroid nodules are benign.  However, there are various imaging/clinical features that help determine the probability that a particular nodule might be malignant, and therefore require a biopsy for definitive diagnosis, so more information is needed to make an assessment.  Talk to your doc about the results.

Possible: All thyroid nodules need to have a fine needle aspiration biopsy. Ten percent of thyroid nodules are cancer.
