Insuff information: You are young to have arthritis, and I have no other past medical HX. Best to see an orthopedist. Has there been a history of trauma to that knee?  Are you involved in any sports where you may have inflamed your patella tendon?  Do you commonly wear high heels? This is something that needs to be examined for diagnosis.

May have...: Several mechanical issues: partially torn meniscus. A joint mouse, or growing fragment of cartilage that usually hides in recesses, but can surface between the joint and cause equsite pain. Because your problem has happened only twice and goes away, I am not inclined to think you have an inflammatory arthritis. Aother cause: synovial plica, a synovial fold that gets pinched. Pain inhibits motion!

RICE: Initially rest, ice, compression, elevation, and a re-evaluation would be appropriate.  If symptoms persist, an MRI can be used to rule out an internal derangement of the knee.

Baker's cyst?: Several causes of pain behind the knee. I assume no recent trauma--you may have a baker's cyst--basically a collection of joint fluid extruded outside of the joint and formed sack there behind the knee...As it enlarges, it can cause pain and reduces ability to bend the knee.
A bit clot in the back can do so as well, but you don't have other symptoms to suggest that.

Internal Derangement: I suspect you have  Internal Derangement of the knee. You could have  torn cartilage,broken bone, torn ligaments or torn tendons. Ice the knee now and tomorrow 20 minute sat a time and after that  heat. See your  physician to help clarify the diagnosis and be certain you did not break anything
