Antivirals: Unfortunately Herpes is never eradicated from the body you may take antivirals like acyclovir to treat outbreaks and be on prophylactic doses to try to decease recurrence. See your doctor.

Yes: The herpes breakout shoul heal in 4 days, it may take few days more if the attack is severe.

Outbreaks: Herpes virus lives in the nerve cells and will break out periodically. Usually the frequency of outbreaks is more frequent if an acute infection, and less frequently for chronic infections. Not uncommon but see your doctor if you are concerned or if any changes to the outbreak.

BUMPS: Bumps may be the least descriptive word in medicine. It does not in any way trigger anything that a doctor can easily or accurately respond to in your question.

There are no common stds that would show 'bumps' within four days of exposure. Stds also do not appear out of nowhere. An infected person has to transmit the infection for it to be an infection.

Mucous membranes: Herpes simplex occurs on mucous membranes.  Herpes-zoster occurs on specific areas of skin in a nerve root distribution.  Random pimples probably aren't herpes.  Herpes lesions always have a blister in the middle of them early in the eruption. Then they crust over.  Only way to be sure is to have an examination.  See your doctor.

No cure.: The thing with Herpes, is that it never truly goes away. The super contagious sore may be gone, but the herpes virus is still living in the nerve cells of the mouth. There are studies suggesting that occasionally just before an outbreak, herpes virus can be found in the saliva. Prevent by using condoms or dental dams, getting regular STI tests and having reduced numbers of sexual partners.

Hair Follicle: Probably what is called folliculitis.  An inflammation/infection at the base of a hair/hair follicle.  Might need a virtual consult and furnish a photo.  An app for at least iPhone called Magnificent produces great magnified or micro photos.  RJ

Herpes : Yes. Of course. Most testing for herpes includes the early antibody igm and the mature antibody, igg.  4.5 months is definitely time enough to get these results.
