Common, serious...: The most likely cause of GI pain and GI bleeding are medications that irritate stomach lining causing gastritis, ulcer disease, severe reflux, esophagitis. Most common are aspirin, meds related (nsaid's--ibuprofen, naproxen)--anti-inflammatory drugs. If note reddish stool, or stools turns dark or black, or GI pain occurs, call your physician, who will tell you if you should come to office or er.

Not really: Milk helping stomach pain, ulcers, gastritis--it's a lot of bologna-:). Iced could make it worse.  Perhaps if your stomach is programmed since very young to get relief from it, then in your case, it may reduce pain. The brain and gut are closely connected. The 'solar plexus' is complex of nerves in mid-gut; it is possible that the stomach nerve supply may be evolutionarily the original brain!

Not enough water?: Having an adequate amount of fiber in your diet (30 gms of soluble fiber) is important part of optimal health (helps cholesterol, regularity, etc).  The large bm's is not really a problem. The pain of more concern. Most important cause is not drinking enough water, seltzer, or fruit juice with the fiber. Fiber increases gas in GI tract, could also cause pain. Exercise daily also.

Normal is...: In general, normal is having no back pain and no gastrointestinal pain. Pain means something is not normal, such as there being inflammation, some tissue damage, cramping muscles, overdistention of bowel, etc... Details matter a lot. Many people take antibiotics for infections of various kinds. There are easily hundreds of different antibiotics and more than hundreds of types of infections.

Yes, but : Highly unusual.  It can happen when the blood is drawn for the test, the amylase level has already returned to normal after initial elevation.  In those cases, serum lipase test would be abnormal. Other conditions are possible, such as crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, occult infection or malignancy.  Get to a GI specialist.

Hello. : Hello.  Your question is very non-specific, so i can only provide generalized input.  Severe abdominal pain should be evaluated especially if accompained by a fever.  Abdominal pain accompanied by vomiting of coffee ground material or with bowel movements that are black, sticky and malodorous can be a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding. Abdominal pain with liquid stools can be due to gastroenteritis but if it is very prolonged, could be due to a bacterial infection, chronic inflammation or a parasite.  Take care.
