Dry skin: As you get older your skin gets drier. To combat this do the following
take short showers that are not so hot. Only use soap in  armpits and groin
use a cream not a lotion moisturizer every night
if you have no plans during a weekend skip taking a shower-your skin will thank you for that.

Emollients and humid: Using topical moisturizers are very useful as well as humidifiers.  Also, shorten shower or bath time, as well as use tepid temps only for bath water.  Normally creams are better emollients than lotions.  Cereve cream with an ingredient known as ceramides is wonderful.  Restaderm by cetaphil is also fantastic.

Yeast rash: One of the conditions that can cause some flaking and scaling on the chin area is "seborrheic dermatitis"  this is a common yeast overgrowth problem and is worsened by stress, anxiety and some other triggers.  Try some head & shoulders shampoo as a face wash three times a week, leave on 30 seconds.  If this doesn't clear is up in a couple weeks, follow up with a dermatologist or your primary.
