Possible CTS: This may be Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, or compression on the median nerve.  Yes, a splint will help.  If it is not this, a splint will not hurt your condition either.

Yes, you need an exam, but no urgency unless coldness, lack of blood supply,  or severe pain.

The bones in arm/wrist area, radius and ulna, form a channel for the nerves and blood vessels. Inflammation  or edema can cause enough pressure to impede the function of the nerves. Medications, braces, and surgery are options. See you doctor to get an exam and treatment plan.

CONSIDER THESE: Diffuse weakness can be associated with peripheral neuropathy, muscle disease, fatigue problems, anemias, hypothyroidism, even depression.  The finger numbness could be associated, but might be isolated carpal tunnel as a co-morbidity.   Would have your doctor assess and treat.
