i fell on my elbow on concrete 6 weeks ago and  it is still tender to touch but ok to move.  should i get an x-ray?

If worried: if you can move the joint after 6 weeks you could have had a non-displaced fracture that is healing and there is not much they will do.  If the movement is decreased any see your physician and get an X-ray

Get informed: This is likely a simple lymph node that became inflamed while it began to work on serum debris from our forearm.The stimulus could be as simple as bug bites or a mild skin infection. This is much more likely at your age than something horrible. A visit with your doc could clear up the issue.

Olecranon Bursitis: The olecranon bursa is a thin sac that cushions the loose skin and the pointy bone at the tip of the elbow. If it becomes irritated or inflamed, fluid can accumulate in the bursa and bursitis will develop.  It is tender and sensitive to pressure, lumpy. NSAIDs and avoidance of direct pressure helps.  Can take weeks to resolve.  If no improvement after a month of treatment, see your doctor

Tendinitis: It may be sign of inflammation in the tendons around the elbow joint. Repeated wrist and elbow movements may cause this. Commonly called tennis elbow. Try some anti inflammatory like Advil (ibuprofen) or Motrin and elbow bracing. If not better you may have to see your doctor.

First guess: My first guess is tennis elbow (aka lateral epicondylitis), which is repeated intermittent pain on the outside of the elbow, particularly with movement, repetitive movements, or lifting heavier things. It can become tender. Pain may also occur when you grap or twist things.Use ice packs for 10-15 minutes when you feel the pain several times a day, try a forearm brace  for the elbow, and Tylenol (acetaminophen).

Doctor can check now: Many possible causes of pain in the back in adults in their 30's. One's doctor can evaluate. There can be a muscle strain or spasm, inflammation in the joints or tendons, nerve pain from the spine or on the skin, an spine bone problem, a kidney disorder, etc... If obese, that can cause back pain and a lot of other health problems. For "severe" pain or possible spinal nerve symptoms, ER is helpful.
