Degenerative spine: Spondylosis is a non-specific term for degenerative changes of the spine. In isolation it has little meaning. Everyone will develop some spondylosis as they age.

can or do you think surgery is an option when my mri results say i have a dorsal annular tear and annular bulge at t8-9 and multi-level spondylosis without cord compromise and multi-level foraminal stenosis?

Probably not: This doesn't sound like a surgical diagnosis - especially with no nerve compression.  With that being said, I'm sure you could find an orthopedic surgeon that would happily operate.  Proceed with caution.  Hope this helps.

Degeneration: Spondylosis is a word to describe the degeneration or aging that occurs in everyone if they live long enough. Tissues thicken; bone spurs form, ;disks narrow, bulge, lose water. When this narrow space around nerves, sometimes the nerves are irritated, causing leg pain, numbness, weakness.

i have spondylosis arthritis in the back  but at the moment no pain can i never get pain i must lift a lot at work but do my exercises and lots of spo?

Yes: At some point in their lives, most patients will develop some degree of degenerative arthritis in their back.  This does not necessarily lead to pain or activity restriction.  So if you are not having trouble with it, I would not worry about it.

can scoliosis with spondylosis of the lower back cause dizziness?

Not typically: Lower back problems of degenerative change ( spondylosis ) and associated scoliosis can cause pain in the lower back and legs if there is nerve compromise. There can be balance difficulty if there is enough mechanical abnormality to cause spinal stenosis. True dizziness, however, is not typically associated with a lower back problem and should be evaluated by your physician.

if i sit without support for few minutes also my back start to hurt badly what cud be this i hve cervical spondylosis also?

Likely lumbar spondy: Gentle range of motion, core strengthening, stretching and walking or any low-impact cardiovascular exercise. Pain can be relieved  with over-the-counter medications like advil or aleve (naproxen). Ice for about 45 minutes will address inflammation and swelling, never apply ice to the skin, always over a towel or clothing. Follow this by heat for about 20 to 25 minutes to help soothe and relax tight muscle.

Lumbar spondylosis: Cervical spondylosis is often reflective of degenerative changes in the spine. 32 is a bit early for that, but it can happen. These degenerative or arthritic changes can lead to pain. It is not uncommon to have these changes in more than one area of the spine. The lumbar spine is a common area and this can cause some of the symptoms that you have.  If the problem persists, check with your doctor.

is it advisable for a 53yr old to have back surgery for spondylosis. she has possible spina bifida on l-1, 2&3. what are the risks?

Accepted Answer

Second opinion: If the surgery is for spondylosis, which just means degeneration, then get at least one other opinion. If the main complaint is back pain then laminectomy is not likely to help and fusion results are very unpredictable. It is unusual to have spina bifida at those levels. Please double check that diagnosis. 53 is not old and perfectly safe age to have spinal surgery if truly indicated.
