Varies: Babies know when they are full and will generally stop eating at that time.  It is easier to over feed a bottle fed baby so make sure you are watching closely for signs of fullness such as turning away, acting less interested, etc.  The amnt will vary and depends on how often your baby eats during the day.  Many six wk olds will take 3 to 5 ounces during a feeding.

Depends on situation: If baby is sitting while holding her bottle it's probably fine. If laying down its a problem. This position for feeding is more likely to lead to ear infections and dental decay. It's a nice trick but its a bit early to let baby self feed.

Not necessary early: During the 50's & 60's when moms made their own cow milk based formula, it was important to feed solids to make up for the deficiencies of cow milk.Today the breast or commercial formula fed babies need no solids the first year. We have a  need to teach them the different skills needed to feed solids & most are ready @ 6m when they start sitting with assistance. This is a good time to start.

Hygiene: Yes.There is the risk that bacteria or virus from your mouth could be transferred to the baby, and make the baby sick.

Try not to: Feeding a baby in a slightly head up position will prevent any of the formula getting into the middle ear and causing ear infections.

Accepted Answer

Not if one time: The usual mixing instructions are 2 ounces of water (60 mL) for 1 scoop of powdered formula. If that is the case, it means we are short 2 ounces of water in this case. A baby should not notice that little of a difference. If worried, a parent can add an extra half-ounce of water to each of the next 4 feedings, and that will make up for the 2 ounces of water missed. No worries.

Depends : Plastics have been found to contain bpa and phthalates.  In low doses it is thought to cause hormonal effects and impact the growth and development of babies.  Plastic bottles that are free from bpa and phthalates are available.  Glass seems nice but it certainly can break/shatter causing obvious problems there.

Yes: Yes, it is totally safe to give babies liquids in plastic bottles these days.  Almost all plastic bottles are bpa free these days, so you shouldn't be worried about bpa.  That being said, bpa in humans has yet to be found to cause any proven problems.

YES: Tea is good if baby is having lbm. You can add it  to diarrhea diet.
