Depends: What type of cancer are you talking about? Uterine and cervical cancers have nothing to do with your periods per se.

It could be normal: If you are not getting a period you are not ovulating and therefore cannot get pregnant.  If you mean you had a Progesterone injection like depoprovera your periods may be suppressed for up to 9 months.  If you don't start to have periods soon you should be checked.

PCOS: Having no menses for a year is a reason for a workup. Some women are diagnosed with pcos but really have other conditions that "look" like pcos. If you are not having a menses then the may not be producing the hormones necessary for a cycle to occur. Knowing why this is occurring is important for your health.

Protected every day: As long as a woman takes her daily combination birth control pill (such as Ginette) within 3 hours of the usual time that she takes her pill each day, she will not notice any difference in the effectiveness of the pills. She is protected against pregnancy every day, regardless of where she is in the pill pack. Pregnancy is possible, but rarely happens, if pills are taken correctly this way.

See a family/ GYN : Very difficult to answer the question with limited details but my recommendation would be to see a family/ gyn doctor and get some tests done to find the cause.

There is multiple reasons
Could be hormonal like premature ovarian failure or early menopause or not ovulating due to weight or insulin resistance 
Other causes like utrine scarring , stress or lot other causes

Some times: Severe malnourishment can cause a very large abdomen with no period. Recommend medical evaluation.

No long term effect: Emergency contraception has no long term effect on fertility. It is just a large dose of Progesterone which is one of the hormones naturally produced by your body. Consider starting a better long acting birth control like an IUD, Implant or another birth control method to avoid the need for emergency contraception.

Many : Many causes of this are possible.  It is still called secondary amenorrhea. You should visit your gyn doctor ; he will examine you  and then order some basic blood tests including prolactin, fsh, thyroid panel CBC and blood sugar. If all tests are normal, then you are reassured; if not other work-up will be indicated. Good luck.
