Not likely: Apple cider vinegar has been discussed as a treatment for skin cancers, but is not standard; it has a low probability of  working.  A small amount of evidence suggests vinegar might kill cancer cells in a culture, but none to show that applying it to the skin kills the cells in a nevus (mole) or a skin cancer.  If you have one or more moles you worry might be cancer, see a dermatologist.

Depends: First, I am assuming this was not a skin cancer, right? If it was just a benign mole that was harmful by its location or symptoms or a dangerous (pre-cancerous) mole, nothing happens except healing of the site and conversion to, hopefully, an acceptable scar. If the mole was pre-cancerous, you need to be checked for others periodically (every year or so) by a dermatologist. Avoid the sun, also.

Nothing horrible: In all likelihood the surgeon will excise this lesion and suture it closed. In that case there is not much to do , supportive care, taking analgesics probably nonnarcotic. If it cannot b closed a small flap of skin and fat from other area can be done again no beg recovery

Only God knows what: First, you should never do this as you can only complicate your life and make it impossible for your doctor to tell what was this lesion in the first place...It may have been benign or a melanoma...If it was a brown or black mole(red ones are usually benign). If it was a cancer, it may reappear in the same spot or in th nearby areas like skin or lymph nodes draining the skin of this area.

I'm : I'm not sure who is doing the procedure for you, or even what technique they might be using, but i can speak in general terms on how i would do it. Something relatively small could easily be done under straight local anaesthesia in which a small needle is used to inject numbing medicine (usually xylocaine). On the face, where we are most concerned about scarring, i prefer excision and fine suture closure. The mole is excised in an elliptical fashion ( creating 30 degree closure angles to allow the skin to lie flat) and oriented along a crease line or parallel to the smile lines (rstl's). Usually 1 or 2 deep sutures are placed, and then fine skin sutures on the outside (which come out in 5-7 days). The procedure usually takes 5-10 minutes and pain afterward is very minimal. Since a mole does involve a portion of the dermis, complete removal typically involves full-thickness skin excision at its location. If its on a nonfacial area, in a relatively inconspicuous area, a dermatologist may opt to scalpel excise it, cauterize it, and let it heal on its own ( healing by secondary intent). You would have to speak to your treating physician for more specifics. Hope i didn't confuse you.

Nevus excisiom: Moles are known as nevi to doctors.  Nevi can be regular or irregular, and can rarely evolve into melanoma.  These are often removed under local anesthesia.  This means that lidocain can be injected beneath the skin, and the lesion is removed with a small healthy margin of skin around it.  They are often sent to a pathologist to make sure they are not irregular or cancerous
