: It takes a few days. Process starts even before implantation and requires the development of the endometrium. Over the course of the pregnancy, the placenta grows from a few cells into an organ that will eventually weigh about 1 pound. By week 12, the placenta is formed and ready to take over nourishment for the baby. However, it continues to grow throughout your pregnancy to 34 weeks.

Likely okay...: A "low-lying" placenta is not uncommon early in pregnancy and, by itself, is not a big concern, especially if you are not having any bleeding. (may be reasonable to avoid sexual intercourse until it moves, ask you healthcare provider.) regarding the procedure you had, and taking a flight, to be safe, i would consult your obstetrician or midwife.

Specialist: It is not clear exactly what is meant by the terminology of a “tear in the placenta.” Your friend should see an Obgyn or a specialist known as a Perinatologist to get a full evaluation. Then a specific prenatal care plan can be designed to help guide her through the process to optimize outcome. Eating specific foods is not going to be helpful in this situation.

Do's and Don't's: It depends on how close the placenta really is to your cervical opening and whether you have a high risk pregnancy or not.Your doctor may ask you to refrain from strenuous activities including sexual intimacy and even put you on bed rest. It is important to discuss this with your OB. Call OB immediately for any bleeding or unusual discharge. Wishing you the best

Clexane injections: are subcutaneous and the needle is less than 0.5 cm.  I would not be concerned that the syringe will reach the placenta.  Good luck.

been told by obgyn and neurologist vicodin ok to take while pregnant. i'm almost 12 wks. is it really ok? any studies done?does it cross placenta?

Vicodin crosses plac: Any med like that is safer the farther you are along and safer once you get out of your first trimester which is 13 /and 1/2  weeks,  headaches are a difficult problem while you are pg because all of the usual migraine meds like  zomig (zolmitriptan) are not safe during pg.

if the placenta(i have partial placenta previa) has not migrated by 24 weeks do you get to be put on bed rest? what are the precautions needed to take

Varies : This will vary from doctor to doctor. I do not put patients on bedrest unless they have had bleeding. All patients should avoid intercourse. This is a great question to ask your doctor at your next appointment.
