Yes: The areas where you had ringworm will not tan the same as the rest of your skin.  Use a sunscreen this season.

No: This is hard to pass to others. It requires direct contact with the site or spores from the lesions.Scalp infections can be passed through shared grooming tools. Cover the site(s) if you wish, but this is no reason to avoid school.

Treat again: I'm sorry your child and dog have ringworm! You can get re-infected with ringworm, and the new lesion will have to be treated with the same antifungal ointment.  I am assuming that the ringworm is not on the scalp, which is a different treatment.  The typical lesion is a circular lesion with raised edges. However, other rashes can mimic ringworm, so it's best to have the pediatrician check it out.

Tanning is bad: Im not sure what you are trying to heal with your ringworm with tanning, but tanning is never a good thing. It increases your risk of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.

Ringworm: Ringworm of the scalp (tinea capitis) is a unique infection, and often will not respond to topical anitfungals.  A course of an oral antifungal agent is recommended -- see your doctor!

: Once you start treatment you can definitely significantly reduce transmission of the fungus spores to others or other parts of your own body by covering the patch. However it's difficult to know how long it takes for all the fungus spores in your skin to be removed. A dermatologist can advise you further.

i have a rash on my upper back. i've had it for about 3-4 weeks now & we treated it as ringworm. it has not gone away and itches at times. ?

Needs to be checked : We do not have enough information to tell you what this rash is without checking itWe don't know what cream you used. But you say it is not going away . I suggest you have it checked by your Promary Care Doctor or a Dermatologist so it can be diagnosed and treated appropriately

Use creams: What anti fungal medication were you taking for a skin infection?? I suggest using Rx anti fungal cream and consulting with your physician. Certainly, continue to monitor your liver function

Unusual: Your problem may not be ringworm but from something in your clothing if the only involved area is covered by your clothing.  New clothing may have been treated with formaldehyde which you may have problem with or it may be from your laundry detergent / anti-static agent.  Make sure that your washing machine is rinsing correctly. See dermatologist if problem continues.
