Avoidance: When applying acne cream, avoid applying near/around the eyes, and applying sparingly. Most acne creams only require a pea-sized amount of product for a face application, which is applied by dabbing (on cheeks, chin, forehead, & nose) then rubbing in. If your symptoms occur or worsen despite proper application, stop using the product & see your physician as you may be having an allergic reaction.

Cosmetics contain: toxins many times.  Look for natural ones, e.g., Klaire labs.  See dermatologist for help w/skin.  Don't smoke.  Vitamin E capsules and/or directly on skin MAY be helpful.  Peace and good health.

i started using epiduo gel a couple days ago on my forehead for acne and suddenly my cheeks really burn and im red under my eyes and on my smile lines. its the only cream that has ever cured my acne and i really want it to work. what should i do?

Stop few days: Would d/c the cream for a few days, which should alleviate the discomfort and redness. Then, would start again in following manner...apply pea size amt to entire face 1 hr before bedtime and wash off just before retiring. Do this every other night for 1 week. Then use nightly.When you feel ok, keep cream on overnight. Use Dove unscented soap to cleanse and remove the cream. See dermatologist soon.

Isotretinoin: Better late than never. Cystic acne won't be cleared by antibiotics. It's not for the faint-hearted but it's probably  what you need. The internet is full of scare stories but the fast majority of folks with cystic acne are glad after they've done it.

i have acne keloidalis on the back and top of my head. how do i remove the acne? i tried steroid injections, creams, antibiotics - none work. help me.

This is serious: The keloids are stable, but ongoing cystic acne can be controlled by a strong drug such as Accutane available only from a dermatologist. It is extremely unfortunate, even criminal, that this should be allowed to happen to a boy. High-tech procedures may help with the keloids eventually & if you can still manage a sense of humor, you can enjoy life & love despite this extra challenge.

Acne: You may be developing nodulocystic acne which can be a more severe form of acne.  If so, seeing your doctor to change your antibiotic or consider another med such as Accutane may help.

i was given elomet cream to use around my eyes as i had an allergic reaxtion to the metal in my glasses. can i use it on pimples as well?

Accepted Answer

No: Elomet is a steroid cream and can help with allergic reactions or dry skin or other areas that are inflamed (like bug bites). Steroids can. sometimes, make  infections (viral or bacterial) worse.  So, since acne is complicated by bacteria, don't use this.  Steroid creams also delay wound healing, so don't use it on open sores or cuts.

Depends: Many acne topical products can be drying especially those with higher % of benzoyl peroxide or retinoids.
