can gallbladder problems cause food to taste salty?

Accepted Answer

Not likely.: Gallstones typically cause post prandial pain.  Changes in taste is probably related more to respiratory problems, such as sinusitis.

: Eating greasy foods can precipitate the pain (biliary colic) but not always and gallbladder stones (cholelithiasis) can happen to anybody regardless the diet.

Gallbladder problem: Your studies and your symptoms show that your gallbladder is not working well. In addition to the risk of having attacks of pain, there is a risk of more serious infection of the gallbladder (acute cholecystitis). Surgery  to remove the gallbladder now is optional, but it's much easier and lower risk to remove it now, compared to after it turns into a bigger problem.

may be gall bladder: Pain , may not be gastritis ,  if you have symptoms and not improving with measures you are taking , get removed  is a low risk ambulatory procedure, speak to your doctor , .

Yes.: The gallbladder serves as a storage place for bile made in the liver.  Bile helps us digest fatty food. After the gallbladder is removed, the body has to adjust to a new system where the bile comes directly from the liver.  Some patients take longer to adjust and may have fatty food intolerance.  If the fat isn't getting absorbed, it passes through into the stool (technically called steatorrhea).

Too vague: You did not specify how long ago your surgery was done.  If it is very recent and you are having fever, please call the surgeon now

Yes : heavy alcohol use can damage your liver fist.  The gallbladder is part of biliary system- same as liver.  Alcohol can also trigger pancreatitis, that also can be triggered by gallstones.  Fatty foods can trigger gallbladder pain.  Basically, the point is that everything is related, and I highly recommend for you to stop drinking and eating fatty foods.
