Do you have Hypertension ?
Avoid drugs which will aggravate your kidney (eg NSAIDs( Voltaren etc) or worsen your BP

Paracetamol, antihistamine, topical nasal spray, throat lozenges are all safe

The time before a patient starts on dialysis depends on what the causes for the ckd, how well it is being controlled, e.g. Diabetes or hbp and the age of the patient. The nephrologist (n) treating this patient is in a much better position to answer your question. What does the patient's n say about the start of renal replacement therapy?

Life expentancy: A person with class 4 chronic kdiney disease does not have renal failure and does not yet need to start dialysis. The person's life expectancy depends on his age and what the underlying cause of his CKD is. People with CKD are have more morbidty and more mortality than age-matched patients without it. Have the person ask his nephrologist for a more accurate answer to your question.

Depends: Life expectancy will depend on overall health and other medical issues.  Patients with stage 4kidney disease are at a 6-8 fold increased risk of cardiovascular events compared to age matched controls.  Cardiovascular risk reduction is key to prolonging.  Good bp,  diabetes control are important.  Exercise and avoidance of obesity will help.  Some patients live more than 20 years if the are healthy.

Depends on heart: It depend on general health and associated health conditions especially heart disease. Heart failure by itself doesn't prevent someone from getting kidney transplant. I guess she was evaluated in a transplant center and being followed by a cardiologist.

Word of caution: I can understand the desire to do something to improve your health, but not clear to me if any of these items help or even hurt.  I imagine they are expensive.  Suggest you conference with your nephrologist and nurse, and be open about these "natural medications", and get further advice.

Getting close: Stage 4 CKD is considered severe kidney disease with stage 5 considered end stage and requiring dialysis. The best thing to do is to see a nephrologist regularly and take  medications they prescribe regularly. You should also avoid NSAIDs like motrin and aleve (naproxen). It would be good also to avoid salt and drink no alcohol.

Annual blood tests: Unfortunately chronic kidney diseases do not generally cause symptoms unless they are pretty advanced. Assessment of kidney function is achieved by routine blood and urine test (that's how they are generally and accidentally found). Ask your doctor  if you have not done it already to check your urinalysis and basic metabolic panel and if they are normal, no worries!
