Leg Numbness: There are many causes of leg numbness.... For example.
Neuropathy, nerve entrapment, back problems...Etc.
Its important to find out what the cause is, then you will know, how to treat it.... I would recommend seeing a neurologist.

Nerve irritation: It sounds like you're having nerve root irritation. Your arm symptoms would be originating from your neck. If you're having numbness down your leg and that would be originating from your lumbar spine.You need to be seen by an orthopedic spinal specialist. This will get to the bottom of why you're experiencing this numbness.

You should: describe these symptoms to your PCP (Primary Care Provider) since the "dragging leg" is a bit concerning! (Besides indicating possible MOTOR weakness it is a SAFETY issue occurring when it does. Your Spine may be the source of these symptoms....

If you have: An acute onset of tightness in your chest and numbness of your left arm, go to the er to be evaluated for a heart attack.

i had a positive ana and jo-1 test what does that mean? i was being seen for numbness and tingeling in both legs and feet and weakness in both?.

Possible muscle dz: These tests are seen in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies including dermatomyositis and poly myosotis.  The tests are not specific.  It requires other testing to determine if you actually have this type or rare disease.  You should see a rheumatologist for an evaluation especially if you have an elevated CPK blood test.

: Actually, there is not enough information from this question to give a confident answer.  There would need to be correlation of the findings to the location that you are having numbness in the leg and foot.  Oftentimes impingement on the thecal sac is meaningless unless it is concomitantly impinging on the corresponding nerve.  That nerve would then have to travel to the location of the numb leg.

: It means your back pain and radiculopathic symptoms (leg pain and numbness) are caused by L4-5 herniated disc. Please follow with your doctor for further advice on treatment plan. Most of these cases are managed conservatively with success, without need of invasive intervention.

Numbness means nerve: True numbness means there is a nerve problem.  For the knee this usually means nerve irritation in low back , but not always.   
An altered sensation near the knee could be a symptom of a cartilage problem or other internal derangement in the knee.
