Yes if pregnant: If you have conceived and you are now passing "clots like tissue", this could be a miscarriage. Have you had a positive pregnancy test? If a sensitive precnancy test (blood or urine) is positive you should follow up with your gyn.

Hemorrhage: refers to profuse,heavy, blood loss which causes soaking and dripping pads- this is a true emergency. A miscarriage can vary in intensity and flow. When in doubt get examined at the ER.

Maybe: If you've missed a period and had a positive pregnancy test, then it's a miscarriage.  If it comes when your period is expected, then it's probably something called membranous dysmenorrhea, meaning painful period with part of the lining coming out intact.

if i pass tissue and it isn't like a blood clot but looks like an umbilical cord could i have had a miscarriage?even though its small and no embryo

Accepted Answer

Maybe: In early pregnancy you cannot see embryo tissue. Unlikely it's umbilical cord but could be placental tissue (decidua/chorionic villi) which means the pregnancy has ended. However, if it's small it could just be mucous or other, which does NOT mean the pregnancy has ended. Can't tell without knowing what it was.  See OB/GYN for follow up.

Not necessarily: You need a gyn exam.  Reasons other than a miscarriage can cause this.

Possible: If you are pregnant passing ' large piece of tissue; is not a good sign could be miscarriage, if you are not pregnant still not a good sign , you need to see your gyn doctor to find out the problem and treat.

i took abortion pills, i bleed but i did not pass fetal tissues, only small blood clots. is this normal? i how long does miscarriage tissue to pass?

: Bleeding with medical abortion is at least as heavy and long duration as a period bleeding. You passed blood clots so chance of success is very high although you have not seen the fetal tissue. You should let us know how long was the pregnancy?  If you have any doubt, see your doctor after 2 weeks.

Sounds like: Also seems like you already followed up with OB/GYN to have ultrasound and exam to be sure no products of conception are left behind.

See a doctor: In order to be sure that you and your pregnancy are okay, been seen by a doctor. Whatever is happening, you'll be able to correct problems that can be corrected and repair whatever damage may have been done. Possible: About 25% of early pregnancies are lost spontaneously, mostly due to chromosomal defects in the embryo. The usual manifestation is a slightly delayed and heavier than usual period. What you described is consistent with a miscarriage.
