i ate late last night. which included a bagel with butter and cheese, and drank soda. then went to bed. today in the morning i felt a sour taste in my throat, like a regurgitation or acid reflux. can this happen or should i be worried?

: You could have had a reflux. If you are overweight, losing weight would be helpful. In general is better to avoid eating three hour before bedtime.

Reflux or Impaction: It is possible that it is acid reflux.  It is also possible that you have some food impacted in your esophagus.  If there is something impacted in your throat you may be at risk for perforating your esophagus and that can be a severe condition.  Many other things, including a cold, can cause a bad taste and sore throat.  I would recommend that you be evaluated by a medical professional .

Maybe, but...: Could also be some other cause for the symptoms. One's doctor can check. Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat).

Possible LERD: Exposure of the vocal cords to stomach acid &amp; pepsin will result in inflammation of the vocal cords (as is also often seen with acid regurgitation) = lerd. Acute laryngitis may result, but watch out for chronic hoarseness, throat clearing, airway spasms, cough, bronchitis, an asthma-type presentation, &amp; even a higher risk of throat cancer. May however not be reflux so please get yourself checked.

Antacids/PPIs: You can try antacids or ppi meds like Prilosec if you are not currently taking any. If you are and the symptoms of your reflux aren't improving then see a doctor. Parsley oil supplements can help with bad breath from stomach issues.

i have chronic bitter/hot taste in my mouth for couple years. i believe it is acid reflux or something similar, even though it is very rare for food to come up. are there any home remedies to ease that? specially to remove the taste?

Bitter taste: I have recommended trying the taking of vitamin B12, bathing your tongue with maalox or applying glyoxide drops on the tongue to treat this symptom. I have also seen a few patients with intractable symptoms and referred them to the department of oral surgery at a dental school for evaluation and treatment.

have acid reflux, dislike drinking water due to taste sensitivity. what are drink options? i drink apple juice but not all that healthy. advice?

Acid suppressants: Take acid suppressants and drink anything you want.

been using bipap for 4 yrs and now have no taste or smell. stomach bloated and feel sick in stomach every day. also have acid reflux & take pepcid 40mg twice a day.thanks?

Wheezing: If you are wheezing and can`t breath well you should use the inhaler, specially if it is short acting
