No though may cause: Peppermint is used as a medicinal herb. It is a natural antimicrobial and is used to reduce cramps and spasms in irritable bowel syndrome. In some people too much peppermint may cause temporary gastroesophogeal reflux (leading to a case of heartburn), so that is the worst that might happen.

IBD??: Im not sure what "IC" means. Now , if you have inflammatory bowel diseases, Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, there has been some reports that strong peppermint can alleviate or moderate some symptoms, but it's not a cure. Change in products?: Did you change shampoos, conditioners or other hair care products? Have you recently permed or put extensions in your hair?  These are all questions to raise with your doctor. Your doctor can also check your hair and scalp for any other problems.

For certain problems: Peppermint has many benefits: it reduces gas, bloating & nausea & helps abdominal & menstrual cramps. Enteric-coated peppermint oil capsules are proven effective for relieving spasms in irritable bowel syndrome.
