Canker sores: Cause is generally unknown although stress, local irritation, autoimmune response likely culprits. They hurt because the surface epithelium (similar to skin) is eroded and nerve endings are exposed.  It could be other things as well, so see a dentist for quicker relief or if it doesn't completely resolve in 14 days.

Likely canker sores: Recurrent painful sores in your mouth after eating spicy foods are likely canker sores.  We don't know why they occur.  Trauma, hormone changes and emotional stress are triggers too.  If you have other symptoms, get the sores elsewhere, have lesions that don't heal in 10-14 days, or if the pain is intolerable- see your doctor.  Avoid the spicy foods and consider taking a daily B12 vitamin.

Difficult to tell: In this forum, your symptoms and possible causes are very hard to determine without actually seeing the sores (are they red, white or ulcerated)?  Are they flat or elevated?  Are they single or clustered? 
Possible causes: infection, vitamin deficiency, medical issue, allergic reaction, trauma etc.

Tongue bleeding: Apply cold applications or cold water to your tongue and if bleeding doesn't subside head to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation and treatment. Spontaneous bleeding of the gums, nose, other mouth structures calls for blood tests to check for platelet deficiency or dysfunction, coagulation disorders, blood dyscrasias,etc. Medications like aspirin,Aleve can cause abnormal bleeding.

Ans: Well what have you done?  Did you eat hot or spivey foods or scrape the tongue on something you put into your mouth. This area is very vascular and will resolve fast but stop irritating the tongue. Be careful what you put into your mouth

Not sure: It could be due to many causes: thrush, strep, viral infection, medication or supplement, irritation from mouthwash or toothpaste, etc.  See your doc for a thorough history and physical.

Hydration: Continue to breast feed and monitor the number of wet diapers. Your 6 month old baby may have sips of cool water to soothe the mouth. The sores may be related to a viral infection, impetigo or thrush. Please have an appointment with your physician to determine the next steps. Small amounts of liquid frequently may help to avoid dehydration.
