No.: Vitamin d is a hormone, not a vitamin.  I recommend vitamin d3 at 2000 iu per day.  But hair loss is less an issue, than hormonal changes.  Current consensus suggest that women in menopause obtain cardiac benefits from being on  estrogen till about sixty unless you have contraindications. Low estrogen can be the most important factor.

Poor diet: Inadequate dietary intake can also cause low intake. Milk is supplemented with vitamin d and is a good source of vitamin d. Try eating foods that are high  in vitamin d or take a vitamin d3 and calcium supplement that has at least 400 iu of d3 and 1000-1200 mg of calcium.

Insufficient intake: There are two ways to get vitamin d.  Your body makes it when you are exposed to the sun, or you can take it in your diet.  Vitamin d tends to be found in fish (usually cold water) and eggs.  There's some in fortified milk, but not enough.  Over all, it's pretty hard to get enough from your diet unless you eat huge amounts of certain fish or take a supplement, so i recommend supplements.

Test results need to be taken in clinical context
