Dilation of veins: Most likely you are fine and the swelling is just due to dilation of the veins in the leg and is caused by alcohol. But if its painful, you drink more than 5 drinks/day, you have protein in your urine (your doc may have checked a urinalysis) or you have  had any injuries to your left leg then you may need to be seen and have someone look a little deeper.

Lymph nodes: They are still called lymph nodes. I assume your are speaking about inguinal lymph nodes present in the groin area as one cannot feel abdominal nodes. There are numerous causes, most commonly infection, inflammation or even tumors. Have a doctor take a look.

Gluten enteropathy?: Have you been screened for celiac disease?  It is one of the most common GI disorders now in the Western hemisphere and typical symptoms can be bloating, and abd pain.  Make sure you have a celiac screening and possibly other tests

: Constipation can cause the symptoms you are describing. Not sure how old your mother is but, assuming these symptoms are new, she probably should be examined by her doctor. She may need to see a stomach doctor to rule out other causes of her symptoms. Cancer is just one possibility-there are certainly benign causes-but you want to get her diagnosed and treated regardless of the cause. Good luck!
