: I would suggest that you check your arm for any changes like in the skin or compare it with the right arm to see if different in anyway like swelling. It may be a neuropathic pain due to pressure on a nerve that may be entrapped at the elbow. There is not enough information other than give you a general idea and consider physical evaluation by a clinician.

Number of things: Description of sharp makes it likely it is something localized to the forearm and not being 'referred' from another area, like the heart. (see, prior answers related to referred pain). Presuming there's no trauma, insect bite to area, most likely a tendinitis (tendon connects muscle to joint)--rest the muscles, ice, anti inflammatory. Less likely is a clot in the vein. Persistent pain-again, c doc.

Tendinitis: Sounds like a tendinitis. Try NSAID for a couple of weeks and ice the area for 15-20 minutes 2x a day.  Rest the affected wrist whenever possible. If the problem gets worse, see your doctor.

Tendinitis likely.: From your short description, it sounds like tendinitis in the L shoulder, either from overuse / over-training or from some other injury. Playing sports just aggravates it.
