Sounds like Viral in: Upper respiratory tract infections caused by viruses are common and affect each one of us off and on. They are self limiting. All you need to do is rest for a couple of days, use tylenol (acetaminophen) for aches and for sore throat and some decongestants(over the counter stuff) and it will settle down.

when i drink alchohol i get a flushed face, neck and chest... i'm not asian, can i still get asian flush syndrome or is this something different?

Alcohol reaction: There are some people who can not drink a lot of alcohol because they lack the enzyme to break down the by products of the metabolism. This is what causes the flushing. There is not much you can do about this other than to avoid drinking it. Good luck.

Cortisone side effec: These symptoms are not unexpected after getting large doses of cortisone. You might even suffer from insomnia as well.  The effect is dose-dependent but should reduce with time. If you have  pain, redness, or increased swelling on the injected knee or a fever , you need to contact the doctor immediately to make sure that it is not infected.

Strep throat: if the back of your throat has white plagues and even is there is not a temperature increase, the cold may have exposed you to a superimposed bacterial strep infection. the flushing can be from the bacteria. Look at throat. white? call MD

Medical conditions such as emphysema, carcinoid syndrome and mastocytosis can do that to you. If it’s happening without any identifiable causes, it would be a good idea to get checked by a doctor.
