Comedones: Plugs of sebum (skin oil) in the duct leading from the oil gland to the skin surface. Often inflamed. Everybody has a few. They vary in size and number. If exposed to air long enough the sebum becomes oxidized to a dark color, a "blackhead". Ok to squeeze out. Somebody is sure to warn you sternly to never squeeze, but everybody squeezes their zits, and they heal nicely after the are cleaned out. T.

Natural skin colour: Perhaps you are fair skinned and your skin flushes or reacts to the sun more easily than some other people. Does it run in your family?

If you go out in the sun, be sure and use a good sunscreen every day (not just on the sunny days). If your skin is irritated or breaking out in some type of sores, see your doctor.

Dry Skin: 1. Hydrate well with water. 2. Avoid lengthy or hot showers. 3. Use sunscreen consistently. 4. Avoid harsh or deodorant soaps - think hypoallergenic &amp; unscented. 5. Only need frequent  soap/cleanser on areas that are dirty, oily or create body odor. 6. Use moisturizer as needed. 7. Aim for 8 hours of sleep per night. 8. Maintain a healthy diet.

Dermabrasion : Dermabrasion does have a risk of leaving discolouration of the skin and the risk is higher if you have dark skin.  A safer, and probably more effective treatment would be one of the fractionated lasers, especially the non-ablative lasers (fraxel) if you have dark skin.

Fordyce spots: Fordyce spots are benign noncancerous cystic lesions. Usually they contain a white cheesy substance that can be expressed. An experienced Gynecologist can diagnose this by visualization. They usually appear on the labia and surrounding area and not inside the vagina

Oily skin: Benzoyl peroxide washes and /or Alpha hydroxy washes can help. Cleanse twice daily. Oily skin is preferred over dry every day of the week btw.

i started claravis isotretinoin. i took 11 pills so far of 40mg. the side effects are just not worth it to me i have decided to stop. i have severly dry lips and facial skin. how long will it take to rid it out of my system. thank you in advance?

: The half-lives of isotretinoin and its active metabolite, 4-oxo-isotretinoin, are about 10 to 24 hours and 38 hours, respectively so this medication will completely be washed out within 3-5 days .

Overtreated: The skin sounds like it is overtreated? Stop ahas and use Hydrocortisone cream for few days and see dermatologist to address pigment issues with slow approach to evening skin color.Possible weak retinoids such as retin a, (tretinoin) altralin, or differin.
