Diapers: I have 2 kids and i found that they did better with pampers and huggies vs. The store brands, as far as diaper rash goes.  It's better to spend a little extra money...Pampers and huggies are better for the baby's skin and they also hold more, so that you have to deal with fewer "blow outs."
diaper wipes can also cause a diaper rash, so water and soft paper towels are a good alternative.

If there is too much moisture in the area or if person is diabetic/not cleaning well after using the rest room, these are areas to be addressed first. Try air drying after washing with luke warm water&have cotton undergarments. If in diaper for a reason, change as soon as it is wet. Try naystatin ointment.

It can: Some children seem to change their saliva when teething (probably to help the tooth pop through the gums) which can be quite irritating and can cause a rash around the lips, and on the other end, diaper rash as well as green diarrhea. Diaper rashes can also be due to candida (yeast). See your doctor to check it out.
