Neuropathy: Crawling and warm feelings are not always from a pinched nerve. Pinched nerves are more commonly associated with pain. Neuropathy, which can be injury to a nerve down to the cellular level can be associated with burning and crawling as well as numbness. A nerve conduction study would be a good way to answer this question of nerve compression vs. Primary neuropathy.

Uncertain: Formication is the sense that something is crawling on your skin. It has many possible causes: menopause, Morgellon's Disease, allergies, skin cancer, syphilis, diabetic neuropathy, Lyme Disease, Herpes Zoster, pesticide exposure, mercury poisoning, alcohol withdrawal, medication /drug use such as: amphetamines, cocaine, Adderall or Ritalin (methylphenidate).

Causes include iron deficiency, renal disease, many other chronic problems and it can also occur for no identifiable reason.  Some find exercise relieves the sensations well enough to permit sleep. Ans: Need more history here. Restless leg syndrome is a diagnosis of exclusion often a result of iron deficiency anemia. So need to have a good pe and lab work done start there for you are so young

Neuropathy: My question would be do you have a neuropathy from diabetes? Do you have restless leg syndrome. I would consider low magnesium, calcium or potassium as a cause.

Likely neuropathy: With your history of diabetes and obesity, it most likely a neuropathy related to your diabetes and has a lot to do with your previous and current sugar control. It could also be a radiculopathy related to nerve compression in your back. The two conditions will need to be scrutinized with history and physical.

Multiple causes.: Irritated nerve (neuropathy/neuritis), restless legs syndrome, multiple vitamin deficiencies. This certainly is consistent with restless leg syndrome. In any event, you will need to be examined and tested.
