Accepted Answer

No: Shaving hairs anywhere on the body is ok (as along as one does not create a skin rash by shaving too closely or getting too many ingrown hairs). Since the portion of the hair that is outside of the hair follicle is not alive, one's body does not know the hair has been cut (so cutting hair does not affect anything inside the body). The cut ends feel stiffer and sharper until they wear down again.

Unknown: As far as I'm aware, we don't really know the cause of this. I have seen them and they are usually not associated with any serious illness.

Alopecia areata: Common to have bald patches that regrow. Of unknown cause but benign. Sometimes patches can take a while to fill in.

Hair issue: Hair grows continuously. We don't normally trim our back hair. That's probably it's so long. Some parts of our body have thinner or thicker hair. It is all genetic. Why is it silvery? I am not sure in your case but again it appears to be genetic as well. I don't think what you described is outside of normal.

No: Shaving or plucking will not make the hair thicker or more plentiful. If anything plucking may damage the hair follicle and cause hair loss.

Male pattern baldnes: That's the most common area of the head for male-pattern baldness.  It may be that you're losing your hair. If there's redness or itching or clumps of hair falling out at one time, then it may be an infection that needs to be evaluated.

: Waxing is just massive hair plucking -- and when the hair shafts start to grow back, they will ingrown even more than after a close shave.  Better to let your hair grow until the shaving bumps resolve, then shave less closely in the future.

i recently cut my hair and it's shorter than the lady was supposed to cut it. another lady said biotin will cause my hair to grow longer. how long will that take? school is starting in about a month and i don't want to go back with the short hair

Worried about hair?: School is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Her hair... well, that cannot be a big deal. That does not mean hair is not a big deal; it means hair length CANNOT be a big deal. It is mind over body. Hair length only becomes a big deal if one's brain fails to ignore all worries related to length. Biotin will make no difference. A student's hair can grow fine with no supplements.
