what can i use for pimples that i get in my face been struggling all these years with this problem.  went to a dermatologist in my early 20's but medicine only worked for a few months after i stopped with the medicine.  oractyne was the name.

Get evaluated: You should find a  doc or dermatologist &amp; work out a daily skin care program. While some experience acne as a teen rite of passage some have it well into their 40's &amp; beyond. Proper  care requires a personal exam. There are both prescription &amp; non prescription treatments.

Need antibiotic: If you see pus in your acne, it means they are infected with more bacteria ( most large comodomal acne develop bacteria). You need to get these checked out for a prescription of a long term antibiotic, usually in tetracycline family.

i used aloe vera on my face and it produced an itchy effect .i have small white pimples on my face now.what should i use ?

Nothing: Leave it alone. This sounds like mild eczema / allergic type contact dermatitis. If bad pain or fever develop, or it if spreads to places that you didn't put the aloe, get seen.  Aloe is touted as being good for everything; it's got its uses, but it's no cure-all and quite a few folks are allergic. Best wishes.

Rosacea?: If you flush easily , this may be from an inflammatory skin condition called acne rosacea. It can usually be controlled with oral or topical medications.  If you do not flush or blush easily , will have go consider something else.

Meds: Many patients do well with over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid preparations. Some patients require topical or oral antibiotics or retinoids as well. If the over the counter meds alone don't control your acne after a month of daily use, see a doctor for additional treatment options. It is important to be persistent, and some patients 'get worse before they get better'.

Acne care: Acne can be prevented or minimized by using a gentle cleanser twice daily, over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid products followed by a noncomedogenic moisturizer such as Cetaphil.   Oral antibiotics or other prescription medications may be in order.

i use lotion & sometimes face moisturizer. i also use oil free face cleanser. am i doing something wrong? b/c i have back acne and pimples on my face

Lotion may clog pore: The lotion may be clogging your pores.  Try doing without the lotion and see if it makes a difference,  On the other hand, it could be hormonal. May or may not apply to you, but sometimes going on or off birth control or changing pills may affect acne.  Try these suggestions for starters.

Skin lesion in head: Skin disorders need to be seen. What you describe as "pimples" may be many things. Common lesions in the scalp could be impetigo or piodermititis, fungal, but even herpes zoster or herpes simplex, psoriasis, lupus, skin cancer, scabies etc. Show it to a dr. Or dermatologist.

No: This is the 21st century and you have a right to something that actually works. Nothing makes pimples vanish overnight. Your best start is topical benzoyl peroxide; if this is insufficient, your physician can offer you a variety of other options including (if you can use and want it) the oral contraceptive pill and topical clindamycin.
