Many: You can take over the counter tylenol, (acetaminophen) Ibuprofen or similar drugs for the pain.  You can also try numbing gels: oragel, anbesol.  Gargle with warm salt water also helpful.  If the above don't work, call your dentist to be re-evaluated or for stronger prescription pain medication.

Contact your dentist, because it is possible that you have irreversible pulpitis, and possibly need root canal therapy. Get Tylenol (acetaminophen) or NSAIDs OTC to control the pain.

Several factors. : Deep cavities require deep fillings.  Tooth colored fillings can contract and be sensitive for a while.  Nerves from cavities can be irritated during the filling process, so the nerve can become inflamed enough to then need a root canal.  If the filling is to "high" or the bite is to hard, then the tooth can become sore and sensitive also.

Pulpal pain: Pulpal pain can be provoked by many factors including heat and cold, pressure from teeth contact, head position. Sounds like the pain of irreversible pulpitis that  is characterized by prolonged pain provoked by a stimulant or is spontaneous. My recommendation is:
cover the tooth with otc feeling material, otc advil (ibuprofen) 2 tab as need it. See your dentist first thing in the morning for diagnosis and tx.

More info needed...: Extraction and filling same arch, same side? Was the filling deep? Did you have an infection? Simple or complex extraction? Answers to these questions would go a long way in answering yours. Please see your treating dentist for a follow-up visit.
